About the questionnaire

I have collected all the answers to the questionnaire from others. I found that the biggest problem in my film is that audiences are easily confused with flashback and flash-forward. So according to these, I made some changes in my final film, I used different color to distinguish the flashback and flash-forward. Before the flashback or flash-forward, I use the effect "dip to white". Then I use the dark-yellow color for flashback and the original color for flash-forward. Now it's much easier to distinguish which is flashback and flash-forward.

the Questionnaire of my final film

Author: Ye Yuan (Johnny)
My project is mainly about using both flashback and flash-forward to display the character’s mental activities.

Flashback (also called analepsis) is an interjected scene that takes the narrative back in time from the current point in the story, Flashbacks are often used to recount events that happened before the story's primary sequence of events to fill in crucial backstory.

Flash-forward (also called prolepsis)is a scene that takes the narrative forward in time from the current pointof the story in films, Flashforwards are often used to represent events expected, projected, or imagined to occur in the future.

Final version of my film

This is my final version of my film. I used 5 days for shooting and 14 days for post-production. And I also did some tests before making this film, comparing to these tests, the final version is much better than that. Because during the test I just rehearse the action of actors without paying any attention to the lights, sounds and any other things.

From this film, I have learned a lot. Things like arranging the time for both shooting and editing, the timetables of the actors are different so that it's difficult to finish this film quickly. So I have to start editing first, I can finished some parts of the film not until finishing the shooting. It saves a lot of time. Another thing is I found that the exact shooting list or storyboard is so important, because it can be an instruction of shooting and also saving a lot of time.
