Comparison between three types of displaying character's mental activities

I have made three different short scenes as flashback, flashforward and present  in the same sources. In my opinion, using the same sources is easier for me to compare with these three scenes.

As for flashback, it can be used for recalling the things happened before the present time. Sometimes flashback displays that the main character want himself to back to the time before present.

As for flashforward, it can shows that the main character is imaging that he is doing something he is not able to do in the present time. Another type of flashforward can be used for predicting the future or considering what will be happened next.

As for the present time, in my opinion, it can get the audiences to guess what the main character is thinking about. It may be recalling the things before the present time, or imaging that he is doing something impossible. But sometimes the present time scene seems boring because of no temporal disruption. It is also based on the character's facial expression. If the actor has not enough facial expression, the scene will not display more to audiences.
